Whilst perusing Usenet on 5 Mar 2007 03:33:40 GMT, I read these words

   Right !
   Like 'home' and 'office' ?

   Thats OK then, I don't do 'office' anymore . . .

   Thanks, got that now.

Yes, I could see my ISP address in the router settings

   I had actually deleted - 192.168.1.10 tango-t21
(which I had put in) before I read this. Seems OK !

   But NOT NOW !

I appear to have a working connection at last !

Don't ask how or why, the only thing I believe that
I did was to 'de-activate' and then 'activate' the
connection but I have Internet access, even after
   a couple of re-boots.

Well I went in there and commented out (#) the etho entries.
This laptop has a modem but (strangely) no network card.

However, it appears to now be OK.

Much obliged to you for taking the time to help me out (again !)
