In addition to being a true multi-user system TP also supports profiles.
Profiles are what other programs refer to as personalities. Users can
have a "work" personality that uses their work e-mail address and an
appropriate .sig message. They can have others for different newsgroups
   or mailboxes.

In TP the profile chosen affects; from email address, reply-to address,
destination folder for filed mail, .sig message and message ID domain.

Each mail folder can have its own default personality, but it is
possible to override the default. When you have a folder selected and
create a new email message the message uses that folder's default
personality but that can be changed before sending the message.

Speaking of message folders, TP has a filtering system that allows each
folder to have its own routing rules configure using either simple
point-and-click settings or using regexps. Mail delivered to TP first
goes through the seat-processing rules which determine which user gets
the message. So, for instance spam messages addressed by anyone can be
diverted to an administrator. Once delivered to the user the messages go
through that user's routing rules to decide which folder they end in.
Message delivery to a folder can trigger events that animate the folder
icon or play a .wav sound. The appearance of a folder icon changes if it
   contains unread messages.
