No need for a "sorry". I read your response, and the rest of the thread.
Did you figure it out yet. I don't have ub-server. Does it have the
/etc/rc*.d folders. Do you know how those folders work? I am not near my
ubuntu box now so I can't check, but there may be a symlink to
setup-console or console-setup that can be removed. Or if not removed,
read. If you read it and understand what it does to change your terminal
font, they you can change it do what you want. If I have time later (and
remember) I will look over my ubuntu's bootscripts and see if I can help
more.
