'pcmcia wifi cards, atheros chipset' in Google
(and resticting the search to UK sites) gives just over 400 hits.
(with the filter 'off' it's nearer 82,000)
most of these are links to out-of-date postings on forums.

The problem is finding a card *currently* available using a particular
'known to work' chipset. As I said elsewhere, there appears to be a
fairly common problem with wireless cards in that the manufacturer
switches the source for the chipset but doesn't give any indication of
   this in their part number.

(It doesn't appear to make a blind bit of difference under Windoze
but causes all sorts of support problems under Linux.)

I really don't want, at the present time, to spend £85 (US$170)
on a War Driver or £82 (US$160) on a Cisco Aironet, both of
which 'appear' to use an Atheros chipset and work *anywhere*.

(Aren't UK prices are a *lot* higher than US ones !)

What gives me some encouragement on the Belkin is the fact
that Ralink have apparently open-sourced their drivers.

   I've now ordered one so . . . fingers crossed . . .
