Hi! mark,              On Wed, 13 Jun 12, you wrote to me:               >>> Partially successful, but message headers had mangled addresses.        >>> Golded acting hinky..               PQ>> The reply "To:" field was in fact blank!              That was eery but I had to fix it with GoldEd to put Ross's name in it.               ml> this is normal unless you have jamnntpd configured with        ml> def_showto on              (It is set that way.)               ml> which makes the From: field on news look like        ml> john smith -> fred astare              Yep.               ml> and a reply to that will cause jamnntpd to place a proper To: field        ml> when it imports the post back into the jambases...              Okay. Check.               PQ>> This is a test message only. (The headers were in a mangled form in        PQ>> the T'bird browse window.) I'll see what it looks like in GoldEd now.               PQ>> The sender's names were truncated and concatenated with the        PQ>> recipients' names, in JamNNTPd. GoldEd was still showing all        PQ>> messages okay.               ml> example??              See the JamNNTPd-prefixed happy-snaps for the browse screens & message       displays...               http://members.dodo.com.au/~colgilly/Page.html              I didn't display the messages with GoldEd though. Each copy of JamNNTPd       displayed the message fine (except for the test system reporting an origin       time of one hour difference[shrug]). It's just the JamNNTPd message list       browse screen in T'bird was ugly-looking. Yerk!              Cheers,       Paul.              ---         * Origin: I like to leave messages *before* the beep. (3:640/384)    |
