   i simpy started with the AREAS.BBS file and modified as necessary to massage   
   it into the format needed for groups.cfg... using an editor with column block   
   manipulation capabilities is a blessing... especially since the AREAS.BBS   
   address list needs to be deleted completely and then the areatag and filebase   
   location columns need to be reversed...   
      
   once that was done, adding the two middle columns with the access group ids   
   and the FTN address to use for the area was a breeze... i kept it simple and   
   used the same groups as i did for fastecho's groups rather than trying to   
   convert to some other grouping nomenclature to keep users out of sysop only   
   areas and restrict access to other areas like net, region and zone members...   
      
   the only other thing i did was to prefix all the areatags with 'fido.' and   
   similar to indicate what network they were for or if they were local to my   
   system only... making use of the ! and $ on netmail and local areas helped,   
   too...   
      
   once done, it is just a simple matter to keep updated when areas are added or   
   removed...
