   LOL! no... well, i did return to the default xlat configuration but my tbird   
   still requires each post to be specifically set to 8859-1 or windows-1251 or   
   whatever... i haven't yet found how to force it to use non-utf-8 for specific   
   destinations... it insists on using UTF-8 which the default translations do   
   not allow for :/
