Hi! Benny,              On Wed, 24 Oct 12, you wrote to me:               BP> vbox can emulate floppy disks, but if the installer want to change        BP> disk it does not help if it expexct all disk to be in drive a: under        BP> installing, doh :)              Yeah, I've been wondering about that. I'll give a whirl tomorrow morning,       after smoko.               BP> it works if there is just one floppy disk              Nope. We don't have any working PCs with an old FD drive. I have some PI/PII       & PIII wrecks but I don't feel inclined to work on them any more. The last       time I did try the WFWG 3.11 disks the install got hung-up on a bad disk read,       on the second disk I think... but then again, I seem to remember that it might       have been the 6th or 7th, around about the stage where the install looks for       (I/O?) drivers I think.               BP> if it works try OS/2 next :)              No thanks. It has nothing that I need.               BP> vbox is nice with samba, where there is multiple vboxes exchange data              My main server (a vBox) is running samba: six network file shares and a PDF       printer service for the LAN. Been there, done that. Samba runs on each of       our Ubuntu host PCs. Ubuntu seems to have attempted to make samba as hard to       use as later vesions of Windows and their file/printer sharing; it was a real       battle to get it work reliably.               BP> btw you can use some clouds to have backups, here my qnap nas use 10G        BP> free datastore, while i provide 100G to the cloud, hehe my qnap have        BP> still over 2TB free store, in raid6 :)              No thanks. Who knows what/who is trolling through your data.              Cheers,       Paul.              ... I logon, therefore I am.       --- Paul's Win98SE VirtualBox        * Origin: Quinn's Post - Maryborough, Queensland, OZ (3:640/384)    |
