   the why is the same (re)numbering problem... the note i read says that when it   
   packs netmail areas, it also renumbers them... that's not good as pointed out   
   previously...   
      
   renumbering on a BBS works because the renumbering process also adjusts the   
   users' lastread pointers to the new numbers but there is no way to communicate   
   this to users' newsreaders...
