ml> because you're evidently running beta5 of the 1.0 code... i don't konw       ml> how many betas there were before the 1.0 release code came out... you       ml> need to find the 1.0 release archive and use that instead of that beta       ml> stuff you have... that may be the whole problem... that jamnntpd binary       ml> could easily have bugs if it is beta code...              It looks like more things were added to the beta5 package. Like UTF-8, and       a couple text files. Unless they were removed for the final release.              Then again _I started this thread using the original 1.0_. When that one       didn't work, I tried the 1.0b5, which didn't work either.              ml> what are the other echotags, please? i only know of the one and that       ml> mainly because one of my downlinks took the lazy way out and turned on +*       ml> to my areafix which turned on all areas instead of just those they were       ml> interested in :/              They are not Fidonet echos. James posts in othernets as well.              ml> so, removing old messages is fine... renumbering the bases is not...              Okay got it. I pack the bases via the Mystic utilities, so the BBS is aware       of it, but the reader was not. Granted, I completely removed the account       from the reader on a few occasions, so there had been times where the bases       weren't packed when the newsreader linked to it.              Either way, that only seemed to be a portion of the problem. I'm hoping       removing the BBS from the project will solve the issue.              ml> yes and yes... but i'm starting to wonder now if you've been renumbering       ml> your message areas when you pack out old messages... if so, it is no       ml> wonder that the reader is pulling some messed up stuff...              That very well could be. One of the jamnntpd packages I had had an HPT       related text file that said not to use "hpt pack" (Why, I don't know, it       has nothing to do with echomail, only netmail AFAIK). Either way, I've got       some work to do yet.              I may just change the settings on my Mystic JAM areas, delete the areas       completely, re-create them, and rescan all messages from my hub system       again, so as to have non-packed areas to start with.. and see what happens       from there.              --- Mystic BBS v1.10 A20 (Linux)        * Origin: thePharcyde_ http://www.pharcyde.org (Wisconsin) (1:154/10.1)    |
