Hi! mark,              In a message to Alexander Koryagin you wrote:               ml> GoldED cannot read NNTP messages directly... it also cannot read QWK        ml> offline mail packets directly... or Blue Wave offline mail packets...              It's funny that you hit on _some_ of this editor's capabilities. Let's       re-visit SemPoint's File_Id.Diz...              -=> SemPoint v2.26 for Windows <=-       SemPoint is the 1st Offline Reader for       Windows useful to both BBS Users and to       FidoNet Points (or Sysops). It can       handle QWK, BlueWave, Mc-Link's X)press       and Usenet newsgroups mail packets, as       well as permanent message bases in *.MSG       (Fido), Hudson, Squish, JAM and EzyCom       formats! EASY to use, but powerful!       Built-in zip/unzip, UUEncode/Decode,       PGP shell, Rich Text display feature,       message sorting, TIC generator.       Multilingual: English, Italian, French,       Spanish, Catalan, Swedish, German and       Dutch editions available! Y2K compatible.              Not bad, hey. I have tested its accessing QWK packets, years ago (it creates       its own Squish messagebase based on BBS packets). I'm currently doing *.Msg,       Squish & JAM with it. The hatching of TIC files is a dream, as SemPoint even       has an 'announce' option for it. (I have an inkling that the UUdecode worked       for me as well, a long time back.)              I think that may have been why you've got a copy lying around... for testing.              It's a pity that no else really appreciated it. It would have served well as       a part of those point packages that have been put together over the years. :(              Cheers,       Paul.              ---         * Origin: I'm not nearly as think as you confused I am.
