   Correction :  One can force the posting, IF one creates a UTF-8 to CP850 table   
   -- however, it will have to drop characters or make a whole bunch of   
   'assumptions' and bad ones at that.   
      
   Somehow we (the collective fidonet developers) need to address the character   
   set problem.  New systems will continue to develop and from what I see on the   
   horizon; these systems will even be more UTF-8 and perhaps UTF-16 dependent.   
      
   Secondly, backward compatibility is great for transitional times;  but we must   
   cut off the old stuff so that the new generation of Fidonet can evolve without   
   the restrictions of unsupported & abandoned software.
