   And, DVDs especially of the cheap variety, do go bad, sometimes rather quickly.

   Yeah, I can relate to that too. Been there done that, luckily it was nothing   
   critical, and I still had the original. Simply could not read the tape. Was   
   NOT stored near anything magnetic either
