Roy ..               RW> I must have this confused. I have a Keyboard, Display and Mouse interface        RW> that allows control of two computers with one set of KDM devices.              Are you by chance referring to what is called a KVM switch? Keyboard Video       Mouse switch, which is a hardware device that swaps the common keyboard, video       and mouse between more than one computer. Here I have a Rose KVM switch made       by the Rose company from Houston which swaps between four computers. However,       KVM switches can actually be provided which swap between FAR more than four       systems! The next step up the ladder is generally I think to 16 different       systems, and you actually, per what I think is correct with Rose, can go to up       to 256 different systems with just one keyboard, video monitor and mouse. As       well, the more sophisticated stuff also will handle audio switching, plus       other hardware channel swaps as well. In general this kind of stuff is made       for control of data centers which typically are made up of relay rack hardware       systems. Mine here has four complete relay rack systems in the six foot case       next to me - all industrial grade stuff with even old pig iron linear power       supplies and so on..              Same setup sort of out at the 117/3000 remote site operation with not only the       computer stuff all relay rack stuff but the entire ham radio full KW       commercial transmitter and VHF interface stuff, plus all the hardware control       for the antenna array switching and directional control that is handled from       assembly language serial port switching techniques which also interface to all       the multiple phone lines and so on as well.                     --> Sleep well; OS/2's still awake! ;)              Mike @ 1:117/3001              --- Maximus/2 3.01        * Origin: Ziplog Public Port (1:117/3001)    |
