   While I agree that the bugs should be squashed first, Telnet is starting to    
   become popular where I am. There are lots of mailers that support telnet    
   connections to include Argus, Jargus, MBSE, PXW and a few others and    
   escape my mind at the moment. on a personal note, It just makes my life    
   much easer to connect to another mailer VIA telnet. Irex supports other    
   protocals that are WAY out dated such as SMTP and FTP why not    
   telnet :) ...
