|    The right setup for Irex!    |
|    08 May 11 21:27:54    |
Hello All!              Here is some right seup for Irex in getting it to work the right way for nodes.       Many many Fidonet people and nodes don't do it right and is right so heavy in       getting it in the right way.              It is not only irex user but also other nodes using other mailers.       As node in several nets is a node polls and connect by different node aka and       default domains.       Fidonet node poll and connect as fidonet aka and domain to fido uplink.       STN node poll and connect as stn aka and domain to a stn uplink.       Pascalnet node poll and connect as pascalnet aka and domain to a pascalnet       uplink.       Micronet node poll and connect as micronet aka and domain to a micronet uplink.       Etc.       This is when a node polls different uplinks for mail.       If the uplink feed the node in several nets then shall both the node and       uplink present all the akas and domains and the node poll and connect with one       of his akas and domains.       Like the node is getting fidonet, stn and micronet mail from the same uplink.       Then is the node have setup :       Fidone aka setup by fidonet domain to fidonet aka and domain       stn aka setup by stn domain to stn aka and domain       micronet aka setup by micronet domain to micronet aka and domain.       So the aka and domain is match uplinks aka and domain.       And the node polls and connect the uplink as fidonet node and is getting both       fido and stn + micronet mail by one connect.              So for Irex user shall the address setup configuration be right by:       Address Aka       Zone match domain name       zone match aka              In the node manager setup:       Binkp: outbound messages toss to binkp site        configuration              configuration:       Default domain = the domain the node poll for mail from, example it is stn -       so is the default domain = stn and not fidonet.              If Default Domain is set = the right name will the node and uplink only need       one aka and domain for the downlink.       like that a node is a fidonet and this is the uplink too, but the uplink do       not feed the node as fidonet, but as stn node so the node shall poll as stn       node to stn aka and domain.       The nodes setting for the stn uplink is then:       111:111/2@stn        Default Domain = stn              This in Irex do irex to poll and connect as stn 111:2300/23@stn <===>       111:111/2@stn as default domain sending stn to the uplink.               Take care,        Gert               - Get the best with linux -               --- Msged/LNX 6.2.0 (Linux/2.6.33-gentoo-r2 (x86_64))        * Origin: * The KofoBBS at http://www.kofobbs.dk * (2:230/150)    |
