   Thanks for the tip... I guess it will be a case of trial and error.   
   I'll see if I can find some old distro CD's and set up a VM, and see   
   if that works, then work backwards from there.  Sounds like a job that   
   will have to wait till I've got lots of free time and nothing to do :)
