Gaylen...              GH> Wow, that would be an older version yet. Actually, If I understand       GH>correctly, version 2.31 IS the beta that you can't get from his       GH>site. I don't really remember which sysop I got this version from       GH>but like I said... it's rock solid on my system. :)               I think 2.29 was the last full shareware release. While I have the       shareware versions for DOS, Linux, Windows, and OS/2 in my files area,       they are limited to the number of connects if IREX isn't unregistered. I       don't know if there is a "expiration" on the time, as I've seen other       programs lately that if you don't register them by a certain time, they       shut down.               One side note in the case of IREX...I heard that IREX apparently also       transmits the registration code and other info back to the author,       Charles Cruden...so, he can track "illegally registered copies". Quite a       bit of software has that capability now.               I will add that if the shareware author will support his product, then       it's the least I can do to register it. However, so many programs from       the "BBS heyday" are now abandonware, and no longer registerable. With       IREX, though...you can register it through BMT Micro...and the code is       good for all OS versions. Plus, once you initially register it (such as       the 50 node, no server version for $25), and you upgrade to the 1000       node, server version, you just pay the difference ($25), as the fee for       the latter is $50.               And, apparently the 1000 node, server version is the ONLY one that       will allow IREX to allow connects from unlisted systems. Otherwise, you       may enter and save it in the configuration program, but when you load it       again, the value for that is set back to "NO".              Daryl              ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ Smile if you're not wearing any underwear.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS         * ORIGIN: The Thunderbolt BBS - wx1der.dyndns.org (1:19/33)    |
