|    New IPv6 address?    |

Hello Tommi,              On Monday January 01 2018 16:52, you wrote to me:               TK> And how about this fido4to6.vlist.eu gateway, I think it will also        TK> show a fake ipv6 address in your binkd.               TK> fido4to6.vlist.eu is an alias for de8.portmap64.net.        TK> de8.portmap64.net has address 84.200.67.208              Yes, that is the portproxy service of feste-ip.net that I wrote about in my       Fidonews articles about my DS-Lite emulation experiments. I kept it just to be       prepaired in case my provider converts me to DS-Lite overnight. ;-)               TK> Just polled you with ipv4. What do you see?              - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [3304] incoming from 2001:1608:10:199:a::208 (41834)       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] incoming session with 2001:1608:10:199:a::208       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] SYS WAT/64       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] ZYZ Tommi Koivula       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] LOC p1.f1.n221.z2.binkp.net       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] NDL IBN       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] TIME Mon, 1 Jan 2018 16:55:24 +0200       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] VER binkd/1.1a-96/CYGWIN_NT-6.1 binkp/1.1       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] addr: 2:221/1.1@fidonet       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] OPT NDA EXTCMD CRYPT GZ BZ2       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] Remote supports asymmetric ND mode       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] Remote supports EXTCMD mode       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] Remote requests CRYPT mode       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] Remote supports GZ mode       - 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] TRF 0 0       + 01 Jan 15:55:24 [1868] Remote has 0b of mail and 0b of files for us       + 01 Jan 15:55:25 [1868] done (from 2:221/1.1@fidonet, OK, S/R: 0/0 (0/0       bytes))        01 Jan 15:55:25 [1868] session closed, quitting...              2001:1608:10:199:a::208 is the IPv6 address of the port proxy. I would not       call it a fake address, it is a "real" address, it pings.              But of course there is no binkp server answering at that address. Port proxies       normally operate just one way.              With IPv4 one could usually call back on the same IPv4 address. With IPv6 that       is not a given...                     Cheers, Michiel              --- GoldED+/W32-MSVC 1.1.5-b20170303        * Origin: he.net certified sage (2:280/5555)    |
