   Glad to see that people still use UUCP.   
   What do you mean when you say FQDN on UUCP?   
   I too use FQDN but the mail trandport is using UUCP..   
   Something like: Thunderbird --->SMTP ---> UUCP --- Internet ---> UUCP Gateway   
   ---> SMTP host ---> Receipient e-mail client.
