As an alternative to runing the AYIYA SixXS tunnel on the same system that       hosts my BBS I have been attempting to set up my Raspberry Pi to act as the       IPv6 tunnel and offer the rest of the machines on my LAN (including the BBS)       an IPv6 address.              I have followed the instructions in https://www.sixxs.net/wiki/Raspberry and       have found while my BBS system seems to now have an IPv6 address I can not       get a report of an open telnet port on that address :(              Here's what I currently see on the BBS machine              IPv6 Address: 2001:4428:200:816c::50, 2001:4428:200:816c:9986:b84b:9600:e71c       Temporary IPv6 Address: 2001:4428:200:816c:3e:1994:f43d:f326       Temporary IPv6 Address: fd84:dbac:4308:1d00:657f:2105:9919:44c3       Link-local IPv6 Address: fe80::9986:b84b:9600:e71c%10       IPv6 Default Gateways: fe80::ba27:ebff:fe60:17b%10, 2001:4428:200:816c::1       IPv6 DNS Server:               The IPv6 Gateway address starting with 2001 I added manually this is the       address of the Raspberry Pi at present. I also added the IPv6 address of       2001:4428:200:816c:50 as it seems like that address would be accepted when I       added a test DNS record of test.agency.bbs.geek.nz but the other 2001 address       was not acceptable to the DNS system - I think that's the local subnet       address issued by the Radvd system on the Pi?              Not being a network guru I am getting myself confused but I find I can ping       both 2001 addresess using http://centralops.net/co/Ping.aspx               So I think I am partially there..              I think I need to alter the Firewall rules metioned in the SixXs wiki to open       up port 23 and forward the traffic to the BBS system. But I am not sure of       the best commands to add to the ip6tables file. In the end I hope that       by make some changes to that file and with the changes I made of giving my       BBS system a fixed Ipv6 address of xxx:50 and matching DNS record ... when       the ip6tables is configured correctly then all should work accordingly?              If you have any suggestions etc. I'd love to hear from you.              Best, Paul              --         Agency BBS, New Zealand | bbs.geek.nz | telnet: agency.bbs.geek.nz:23              --- Mystic BBS v1.10 (Windows)        * Origin: Agency BBS | telnet://agency.bbs.geek.nz (3:770/100)    |
