So you'll have to       find a host to receive mail for you.              One thing you could do is host your BBS off site. There are a number       of virtual private servers out there for under 10 dollars a month.       The one I'm with came with static IP's, too...one IPv4, two IPv6 (i       think -- I never pay attention to those).               If you have access to change your MX record, you could shift just the       mail processing to another system and still host your BBS locally.               I suppose the *cheapest* thing, if you don't have access to your MX       record, would be to register your own domain name, and buy some ultra       cheap web hosting. Most web hosts offer free mail hosting, although       I'm not sure about limits on number of users or anything.              Bottom line, price will be determined by the amount of hacks and       effort you're willing to put into it. Personally, with a domain that       costs me roughly ten dollars a year, and a VPS that's roughly ten       dollars a month (I got a lil extra memory just in case), it's well       worth it. I paid for my VPS by downgrading my Internet connection... :)                      --- MultiMail/Linux v0.49        þ Synchronet þ Southeast Texas Chat        * Origin: Time Warp of the Future BBS - Home of League 10 (1:340/400)    |
