   Speed was OK, their free on-demand movies were limited compared to Comcast, and   
   they offered a low cap on internet - but handled it well. I think it was 30   
   GB/month, and if you went over a gig a day they'd cap your speed until the next   
   day.   
      
   Support was great.   
      
   In the bay area, we have a couple of geek-friendly options.   
      
   Sonic.net has resisted warrantless search requests, offers good service, used   
   to offer great news service, and their CEO responds on support forums. They   
   offer phone, internet and hosting.   
      
   Rawbandwidth.com was my favorite - stripped down DSL service - no filters, no   
   caps, basic service, static IPs and it stayed up FOREVER.
