   One possibility you might want to try is manually set your DNS servers.     
      
   Get rid of theirs for the moment (if you have DHCP this is even better as you   
   don't have to remember theirs) and replace it with OpenDNS's, which are:   
      
   208.67.222.222   
   208.67.220.220   
      
   Put both in your Network Configuration options-->TCP/IP(IPv4) if you're using   
   windows or in resolv.conf in linux as:    
   nameserver 208.67.220.220   
   nameserver 208.67.222.222   
      
   Then double check with ipconfig or ifconfig and see if you're more stable in   
   speeds.    
      
   Most ISPs are notorious for instable DNS servers, so I guess its dependent on   
   who you got if this works.
