|    Speed Issue...    |
|    15 May 09 11:48:59    |
Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong sub..              I've been having a bit of an issue... On the box the BBS is on, I am only        getting .5-1 mbit downstream. On another computer hooked to the same router,        I'm getting 12mbit, and on the family's PC connected wireless I'm also        getting 12mbit. I have tried: (Not all at same time, these were the steps I        took)              Using multiple speed tests       Malware scans       Updating drivers       Installing initial drivers from MoBo Manufacturer       Replacing a brand new ethernet cable       Reinstalling Windows       Replacing ethernet card       Using DrTCP from DSL Reports to tweak the TCP settings       Disabling security       Tweaking BIOS Memory/PCI Bus Settings (heh.. hard drive is faster now        though!)       Using Task Manager to close out pretty much everything       Checking and re-checking router setup (firmware is even up to date!)              System is AMD 2000+ with 1.5GB RAM running WindowsXP SP3              This all started suddenly, and I thought it might've been the p2p software I        was using, but was not reinstalled when Windows was reinstalled..              I don't know if I'm missing something, or what .. But this is nuts!                     -[roalt]-       +o mentalmeltdown.bbs.us                     ---        þ Synchronet þ -< * Mental Meltdown! - mentalmeltdown.bbs.us * >-        * Origin: Time Warp of the Future BBS - Home of League 10 (1:340/400)    |
