   Lubuntu is a good option for low-end systems, too. It's using LXDE (another   
   small window manager) and the application set is also chosen for low-end   
   systems without lots of memory/CPU. Sylpheed for email, for example, instead of   
   Thunderbird. Their own software "store". It runs on my Thinkpad T42 in about   
   100 megs of memory!
