   Because Netscape had grown extremely bloated. The brand had also lost a lot of   
   its mojo as IE gained ground.   
      
   Firefox was leaner, focused on just web browsing, and much faster.   
      
   I was an early Firefox adopter, though I switched to Chrome (at work) and   
   Safari (at home) in recent years after Firefox itself seemed to grow bloated.
