No dynamic modules back then that I knew of. VESA support was       tricky, I remember buying a specific video card because I knew it worked.              I used TWM back then, as K said, opening a handful of terminals. There       weren't many graphical apps. I remember a few early graphical browsers.              PINE or MUTT were your email friends.              Oh, and RPM or apt-get. Nope.              hand-hack a configuration file, then run make;make install and hope it       worked.                                   ...
