   Did you set Latin-1 in server settings? I've just checked and it seems to work   
   correctly, see my messages in fidotest.    
      
   Unfortunately for ftn you should set Latin-1 in server settings for this to   
   work.    
      
   For nntp it should work fine but I don't have a server for testing.
