         1 c  Light brown sugar   
       1/2 c  Granulated sugar   
         1 ts Vanilla   
       1/4 c  Water   
         2 lg Eggs; well beaten   
         1 ts Salt   
         1 c  A-P flour; sifted   
       1/2 ts Baking soda   
         1 c  Oatmeal   
              Chopped nuts; walnuts pref   
       
     Mix in order and drop on baking sheet.   
        
     Bake @ 400oF/205oC 7 to 8 minutes.   
        
     Then run under broiler to brown.
