   I recently stopped paying my cable company $360/mo (since 1998!) for all three   
   services (phone/cable/internet).    
   They finally installed Fiber (and installing it around our entire city!).   
   $60/mo for 1G speeds (up and down) -- cable was supposed to me 1G down but   
   only 10-15M up.   
      
   I'm happy! And they allow the customer to control their own ports (unlike my   
   cable company). I clicked the ALLOW button which blacklists IPs from known   
   countries, etc. and I get to review all logs to enable to turn off the feature.
