It's no speed demon: it took nearly four hours to set up        Slackware when on a normal desktop, it takes less then 20 minutes. But it        does work. The RPis do not have a RTC on them so I have ntpd set up to run        upon startup. The experiment was successful so I've ordered a RPi 3+ (a        quad-core 1.2gHz with 1GB RAM) which should be orders of magnitude faster than        this RPi 1.              So hopefully the newer RPi I will be able to use for my shack computer. I'll        order a RTC chip to put onboard as with ham radio, timing stuff is sensitive        and I don't want to make any mistakes.              This is just an excuse to tinker. :D              I am trying to get the shack cleaned up and organized so I can bring out my        Kenwood TS-430S and use it next to my Yaesu FT-450D. No sense in having it        sit there and rot on a shelf.              Later,       Sean              ...
