   I believe the version I'm using just leaves it in if it's already there with   
   that option set to yes. Having it set to no tries to remove it, but seems to   
   mangle the rest of the subject in the process.

   I have no idea if it's in the changelog or not. I was having the problem with   
   that option set to NO. With it set to yes, like you have it, I don't have any   
   problems anymore.   
      
   Just wanted to point that out, maybe you could try setting it to NO and   
   replying to a message with "Re:" at the beginning to see if it mangles the   
   rest of the subject? If so, it may be a bug. :)
