   It is don't need use charset convertions of golded+.   
      
   You may use a program 'screen': create a file ~/.golded-screen with line   
    defencoding cp850   
   and call gedlnx from screen:   
   screen -c ~/.golded-screen sh -c "LANG=..... gedlnx"   
   (where .... - your national locale, not UTF-8)
