   Don't know, but v5 was the current version when NT was developed so presumably   
   they used what they had and didn't think it worth the effort to bring it up to   
   date with v6.  IIRC most of v6's improvements were unnecessary or handled by   
   NT itself anyway: memory management, boot profiles, disk cache, disk
