The only woman to       earn        a full military pension in the Revolution.              Christopher Greene, led the spirited defense of Fort Mercer in the 1777 Battle       of Red        Bank, and the African American 1st Rhode Island Regiment during the American        Revolutionary War, most notably with distinction in the 1778 Battle of Rhode       Island.              Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Polish General who aided General George Washington during       the        war.              Fleuri Mesplet, printer for the Continental Congress before moving to Montreal       to set up        Quebec's first daily newspaper.              Richard Montgomery, leading figure in the Invasion of Quebec, until his       untimely death        at the Battle of Qu˙bec on 31 December 1775.              John Sevier, Sr., one of the commanders at the Battle of King's Mountain, US        Representative for North Carolina & Tennessee, 1st Governor of Tennessee.              Banastre Tarleton, British soldier and politician known as "Bloody Ban" during       the war.              ----              I have some ancestors that were actors, architects, astronauts, Afro-American,        bank robbers, boxers, comedians, detectives, pro hockey players, singers and       musicians, painters, physicians, politicians, poets, popes, writers.
