Hi Nicholas,              On 22 Nov 16 08:12, Nicholas Boel wrote to Wilfred van Velzen:        about: "Netmail and Jam":               RM>>> Especially if there is a text config               WV>> There won't be at first...               NB> I thought you were saying that's what you may have to do at first seeing        NB> as though the current config program wasn't playing nice with the        NB> recompiles?              It was a thought. But not very viable as a quick sollution, on second thoughts.              The quick sollution will be using the windows configuration program for       editing the configuration files for the linux version.               NB> What I would like to know (and I was wondering the same about HPT), is        NB> if say I were to do a rescan from another system, and I was using        NB> either FMail or HPT, if my system would then spit that entire rescan        NB> out to my other links?               NB> I avoided doing any kind of rescan to this new hub because I was worried        NB> about that, and didn't want to do a rescan before adding all my links to        NB> the config. Is there some sort of identifier in the message header or body        NB> that would tell FMail or HPT it was a rescanned message and not to process        NB> it to other links?              FMail adds a "RESCANNED" kludge line to rescannend messages but that's not a       documented standard afaik. And I don't know any software, including FMail,       that considers it when tossing incoming pkt files.              It's up to the sysop of the receiving system, to make sure to "unlink" other       systems from areas before requesting a rescan. Rescan is a "dangerous"       function, where one needs to know what one is doing! So FMail even has the       option to turn off rescan functionality for individual links...              Wilfred.              --- FMail-W32 1.73.4.41-B20161120        * Origin: point@work (2:280/464.112)    |
