Hi Paul,              On 02 Nov 16 23:20, Paul Quinn wrote to Wilfred van Velzen:        about: "Fmail updates":               WV>> Except for the configuration program. But I have no idea what that        WV>> will look like yet. ;)               PQ> Aw, c'mon... we're big boys now. We can deal with text file based        PQ> configurations. :)               PQ> Can you export a text config file from your current Win/32 version? (Just        PQ> asking as I don't know.) Perhaps use that as the starting point?[shrug]              There is an export function, but that leaves out the details of the       configuration. And it's more ment as a "pretty" print option for humans, not       as configuration...              Anyway, converting to a text based configuration isn't as trivial as it       sounds. It isn't like the configuration is read at the start and (possibly)       saved at the end of the program. You must remember the program was developed       in the DOS age when available memory was (very) limited. So for instance the       area configuration isn't read completely into memory, just the parts that are       needed at the time. And it is constantly updated during tossing with for       instance the last tossed date. To change this behaviour you have to rewrite       large parts of the code.              And have a look at the structures used in the configuration files, there are a       lot:              https://sourceforge.net/p/fmail/code/ci/CodeBlocks/tree/fmstruct.h              Wilfred.              --- FMail-W32 1.73.1.24-B20161101        * Origin: point@work (2:280/464.112)    |
