   AltGr is just a relabeling of the old right Alt key. In the old days they used   
   to have the same functionality just like the left and right shift key. With   
   the need for easy entering of more special characters like umlauts and   
   accents, the right Alt key got some different processing in the keyboard   
   drivers.
