   That does work.  Problem is when MakeNL on the receiver's side processes the   
   file, without that .cut there is no way for a "response" to be sent back to the   
   sending node whether the segment sent was ok or there was an issue with it.   
   Either way a return receipt is sent back to the original node. Without that, if   
   there was an issue with the segment, the original sender would never know and   
   therefore the segment would remain faulty.
