Yet, I wonder what the fax        > machines are        > working with...since practically all the old analog lines        > are now        > digital/VoIP. If there was a way to make that work, I'd put        > dial-up        > access back on the BBS...but I saw a comment from Rob        > Swindell (aka        > digital man), author of Synchronet, noting that "28.8 and        > 33.6 aren't as        > fast as you remember them".                     I have a very strong internet feed and I purchased Magic Jack as a joke as I       did not think it would work after I tried a couple of others but I have a USR       HST modem dialing and answering just fine at 9600 baud via analog via VOIP. I       had to play with com port settings and others but on a Windows 7 machine, it       dials my uplink and downloads to my downlinks just fine with a minor hickup or       two now and then. It does just redial and off it goes.              Of course for my main feed I use BinkP but wanted to see if I could get the       old setup to work. May not work for a BBS but for a mailer it gets by.                     --- InterEcho 1.20        * Origin: Home Of InterMail/InterEcho (1:106/201)       SEEN-BY: 1/120 123 14/6 15/0 2 16/101 18/0 200 19/36 34/999 90/1 103/705       SEEN-BY: 104/57 106/201 116/18 116 120/302 331 123/0 25 50 115 120       SEEN-BY: 123/140 150 755 128/2 135/300 153/757 7715 154/10 30 40 700       SEEN-BY: 203/0 218/700 221/0 6 227/114 201 400 229/200 354 426 1014       SEEN-BY: 230/150 152 240/1120 5832 249/206 307 317 400 250/1 261/38       SEEN-BY: 261/100 1466 266/512 267/155 275/100 280/464 5003 5555 282/1031       SEEN-BY: 282/1056 291/1 111 292/854 300/4 310/31 317/3 320/119 219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 340/400 342/13 200 396/45 423/120 633/280 640/1321       SEEN-BY: 712/848 770/1 801/161 189 2320/105 2452/250 3634/0 12 15       SEEN-BY: 3634/27 50 119 5020/1042       PATH: 106/201 261/38 3634/12 154/10 280/464 229/426           |
