   you have too many messages in your HMB... it has some pretty strict   
   limitations...    
      
   Max areas    : 255   (depending on software. quickbbs only allowed 200)   
   Max messages : 32767 (this is ALL messages in ALL areas)   
   Max size     : 16Meg (MSGTXT.BBS holds 65535 255byte records)   
      
   to be specific, those messages are telling you that you are running into the   
   third limitation...   
      
   your only choice is to trim the numbers of messages you have stored and pack   
   the base down... either one of the second two will cause problems like you are   
   seeing... if either of those limits are broached, the entire message base is   
   corrupt and the only option is to delete all the MSG*.BBS files and start all   
   over again...
