   Not sure why this is posted in the FD echo? If you know who your NC is, then   
   you typically send a Crash/direct Netmail to him. This demonstrates that you   
   have a working system online. Once you obtain an address you typically remain   
   connected to your NC to receive Netmail...  but you are usually free to get   
   your Fido feed from anyone.
