              If I said it aloud, I'd say "in other words".  Not all   
   abbreviations are easily pronounceable as written.  But in my experience most   
   people can talk more quickly than they can type, and the same definitely

              I can't be sure who all of them are, of course.  But among those   
   who engage in conversation here I see that a lot of the questions people most   
   often ask have to do with simplified explanations given in the primary grades   
   &/or in textbooks.  Both native speakers & people who are studying English as   
   a foreign language are confused when the "rules" seem to have numerous
