MSGID: 1:153/716.0 dd8b3aa2       REPLY: 2:5064/54.1315 5dbdee8f       CHRS: IBMPC 2       Hi, Denis! Recently you wrote in netmail to Ardith Hinton:              DM> HI, Wit's End!              DM> Ah... that may explain why messages from You which don't strike       DM> me as particularly confidential end up in my netmail area.              DM> The example I've just replied to seemed to indicate that the       DM> message You was replying to had been forwarded from E_T, presumably       DM> by You himself. My software allows me to specify move, copy or       DM> forward & indicates upon arrival who told it to do that. On the       DM> downside my software can't decipher the France alphabet. We all do       DM> the best we can with what we have, and although I am not a techie I       DM> count myself fortunate that my computer guru is in the same room.              DM> I've tried many times to explain to You & others that I can sent       DM> netmail only to points in Z1, but folks from Z1 don't appear to       DM> understand why :Q                     DM> Denis                      This reply doesn't indicate it was forwarded... but it looks as if       you cut & pasted a message to Alexander, then did a bit of rewording. You may       have guessed, quite correctly, that a pair of old schoolteachers wouldn't take       long to figure out what you'd done! I gather messages from E_T are showing up       in your netmail. Years ago, when you were communicating via 2:5030/2404 *and*       using a different message editor, you replied to me & to various others in the       echo with our own words identified quite clearly & appropriately. I'd like to       be able to help you do it again. Since there's more than one variable in this       case, however, I can't be sure from the other side of the Arctic Ocean what is       going on. Maybe your "boss node", Vitaliy Geydeko at 2:5064/54, could help.                      When the name of Vitaliy's system appeared in the nodelist, BTW, I       understood why you were curious about Wits' End. The word "wit" is defined as       intelligence & quick understanding, especially when used in the plural, but is       probably most often associated with remarks which other people find amusing or       entertaining. A person at his/her "wits' end", AKA "wit's end", is in a state       of confusion because they've reached the limits of their brain power.... :-))                                   --- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+        * Origin: Wits' End, Vancouver CANADA (1:153/716)       SEEN-BY: 1/19 120 123 15/2 16/0 18/0 90/1 116/116 120/544 123/0 25       SEEN-BY: 123/50 130 131 150 755 135/300 138/146 153/250 757 7715 154/10       SEEN-BY: 203/0 221/0 1 6 360 227/114 229/354 426 1014 240/1120 2100       SEEN-BY: 240/5138 5832 5853 249/206 317 261/38 280/5003 300/4 317/3       SEEN-BY: 320/119 219 322/0 757 342/200 423/81 460/58 640/1138 1321       SEEN-BY: 640/1384 712/848 2454/119 3634/0 12 15 24 27 50       PATH: 153/7715 3634/12 640/1384 221/1 320/219 240/5832 229/426           |
