Hi again, Thalles! Awhile ago you wrote in a message to All:              TC> Hello, I would like to improve my English.                      That is music to my ears. Now, to help you get started:               I live in the city of Vancouver, which is located in the       southwestern corner of Canada near the Pacific Ocean. Other cities in the       Greater Vancouver area include Richmond, which consists of a group of islands       in the Fraser River to the south. I'm telling you this partly because it       gives me an excuse to use prepositions & partly because there are various       other places with similar names       ... so the geography might be confusing to readers from SomePlace Else.               Canadians joke that many of us snuggle up to the US border for       warmth because other parts of Canada get very cold in winter. Vancouverites       joke that they have webbed feet... like ducks... because it rains quite a lot       here. When cold air from Alaska meets warm ocean currents from Mexico, e.g.,       the resulting clouds unburden themselves on the mountains.               Geographically I live in a "temperate rain forest". I love the       trees & the mountains & the ocean. I understand that the Pacific Ocean is not       always as calm as it appeared to be on the day that some explorer or other       named it... but that weather patterns near the Atlantic Ocean may be quite       another story.               Flavio has been educating us about Brazil. Now it's your turn. ;-))                                   --- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+        * Origin: Wits' End, Vancouver CANADA (1:153/716)    |
