             Yes.  You've also reminded me that many older bathrooms in this neck   
   of the woods don't have the sort of built-in shower heads we see in the movies   
   ... but a hose can be used which fastens onto the water tap at one end & has a   
   shower nozzle at the other end.  These hand held devices are often referred to   
   as "telephone showers" because they somewhat resemble telephone handsets.  :-)

             Quite possibly.  The English/English dictionary closest to where I'm   
   sitting now explains it as a spray of water applied on or into any part of the   
   body.  In the common parlance, however, this term is so often used to refer to   
   spraying the vagina for medical and/or hygienic purposes that it seems to have   
   fallen into general disuse WRT (e.g.) bathing & applying nasal spray....  :-))
