Hi, Denis! Recently you wrote in netmail to Ardith Hinton:              DM> lakes and rives in Alaska and northwestern states such as              DM> Idana,        |Idaho or Indiana? Idaho is a northwestern state.              DM> Montana, Washington an Wyoming.                      I presume your source is an author who lives in the USA. We also       have grizzly bears here, in British Columbia & in the Yukon Territory.... ;-)                            DM> Although sightings are not very common, these huge animals       DM> are the most dangerous of all bears and can can easily kill       DM> or seriously injure humans. They can be unpredictabe and       DM> be rocious, especially when they are hungey, injured or with       DM> their cubs. So, if a bear approaches you, don't run and if       DM> you are attacked, lie face down and play dead.                      While I've received similar advice, I have no personal experience       with grizzly bears. But there are black bears in the mountains near Vancouver       ... and sometimes they wander into campgrounds or suburban areas. Chances are       they're sick, injured, and/or hungry. Luckily, on the few occasions when I've       encountered them, I noticed them before they noticed me.... :-))               Do you still have bears in Russia?                                   --- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+        * Origin: Wits' End, Vancouver CANADA (1:153/716)    |
