   Yes. In Russia a black panther is always "she"; more of that - the Russian   
   language has not a single word targeting a male panther, at all. So, if you   
   translate into English a Russian story with a panther you will not know the   
   real gender of the panther. Although, everywhere in the story, the panther   
   that is "she" in Russia will be probably "he" in English. ;)
