   An open-handed slap to his open hand, at roughly head high level.  The finger   
   spread gives you 'the five' count.   
      
   There's a low five as well, and maybe some variations like the jive/hip-hop   
   alternate palm & back-of-the-hand swipe with (optional) fist-grip.  John   
   Connors' explanation in the Terminator 2 movie would help you as well.  8-)
